Researched Medal for Courage "2834477"

Very nice researched medal of courage. The medal is numbered 2834477 and was awarded in June 1945. The medal is made out of solid silver and comes with its original double layered steel suspension. The medal is in great condition with most of its red enamel still present. 

 

The medal of courage has been awarded on the 9th of June 1945 to Red Army Soldier Vladimir Vasiljevitsj Polentsov machine gunner on the 1st machine gun company of the 830th Infantery Regiment, 238th Infantery Division, 70th Infantery Corps, 49th Army, 2nd Belorussian Front. He was awarded the medal of courage for actions between 19th and 26th of april 1945 during the crossing of the Oder near the city of Schwedt. Under enemy fire hecontinuously delivered cartridges and grenades to the machine gun sections and carried out the section commander's orders in a bold manner.

 

The medal comes with scans of the original award citation. Although the medal is researched it definitely deserves some more research. Excellent researched medal for courage in great condition! No repairs, no damage!
