WW2 Named Purple Heart & Silver Star Medal Set, 6th Armored Division (ETO)

WW2 original named "replacement" Purple Heart & Silver Star Medal Set. The medals remain in great condition. The medals come with together with ribbon bar and lapel pin and have a period original crimp brooch mechanism. Both the Purple Heart and Silver Star are name engraved to Louis R. Focacci, serving in the European Theater of War as a member of the 6th Armored Division. The set remains in excellent condition! No repairs, no damage.
Louis R. Focacci was born in 1909. He had two years of high school education and was semi-skilled in construction occupations, when he enlisted for Second World War service, as a Private with the United States Army, on April 2, 1942 at Fort Jay, Governors Island, New York, enlisting "for the duration of the War or other emergency, plus six months, subject to the President or otherwise according to law". He served with the 6th Armoured Division of the United States Army and was awarded the Silver Star, "for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with the 6th Armored Division during World War II", by Headquarters, 6th Armored Division, General Orders No. 21 (1945). He was also awarded the Purple Heart.
